We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.

The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.

To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.

The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.

Thanks Simone
Chris and I have only just arrived back home in Tassie from our whirl-wind circumnavigation of Australia. We had the most amazing time with Phil and Liz and the rest of the beautiful guys on our tour of the Gibb River Road. Loved every minute of it!!! Will share adventures in the near future once we settle in again at home.
Keep up the good work and look after those amazing guides, they really deserve a pat on the back, as do you guys for all your friendly and professional assistance.
Many thanks again
Hi Simone
A BIG THANK YOU for your promptness in replying to any queries and being behind the organisation of such a great tour. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects with the hardest part being settling back into our ‘normal’ life in cold Melbourne.
Thanks again and best wishes to you and your team
Hi and thank you for a an amazing experience.
It certainly exceeded my expectations, largely due to the very professional and amazing care that was provided by Liz and Phil.
They are exceptional people and I would not hesitate to recommend Adventure Wild to family and friends.
Kind regards
Simone,
August has almost passed and we have been home for a couple of weeks after our 18000 klm (inc Adventure Wild #19 tour) grand WA trip.
Time to post my testimonial:
I have read many testimonials on your web site and without exception their comments and descriptions all ring so true for us.
Adding to my previous comments however, I would like to add a different perspective in my Testimonial.
I have been battling a “medical condition” since early 2014. The outcome of which is that I now have a “somewhat compromised” immune system. I have to avoid picking up viral bugs… or it’s off to hospital asap to go on the drip. To travel into remote areas such as the Kimberley/GBR was a risky option for me, given any infections need to be treated ASAP.
How lucky were we to have Cheryl and Wayne (Gools and Thommo) as our tour leaders.
Their Camp management and organisation skills were (IMHO) “exceptional”.
Gool’s is an exrtaordinary “Cook”. The quality and variety of the meals presented to us was simply fantastic. (Thommo peels a pretty good spud too).
But for me their organisation and hygiene risk management was absolutely first class. Being able to reduce my anxiety and fears about remote travel with a group, was a major plus for me personally. It enabled me to confidently experience a part of Australia which I had given up on a couple of years ago. And what a great experience it was.
I have taken this tack with my comments to encourage those who may be in the same boat as me with their health, and who in turn may think that they may not be able to experience the Kimberley, to consider the option of contacting Adventure Wild!
I also learnt a lot about “social issues” and “history” of the region, which I’d previously formed flawed opinions (based on my own ignorance) .
Thank you Thommo and thank you Gools.
By the way.. The Gorges, camps, travelling etc were great too!!! But if I never have to struggle with, and get tied up in knots with a sleeping bag again in my life, I can live with that..
Cheers
Hi Simone,
I’ve recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime. Carmel and Mark looked after us so well and inspired us with their passion for the Kimberleys and Aboriginal culture. Because of their help I was able to complete walks that I would not have managed on my own.
I think that some of my friends will be joining one of your tours next year.
Regards
Adventure Wild, just want to say that this trip was such an unforgettable experience !!
And that our guides, Phil & Liz, were absolute tops !! Found them to be so personable, helpful, humorous, focused with their driving, as well as being terrific cooks and such likeable people.
I really cannot fault anything about this camping trip – it just seemed to go like clockwork – and its a long time since I have been camping ! But I have to say that I am very glad I requested a stretcher and was warm and comfortable.
So thank you Adventure Wild for this great camping adventure !
Hi Simone
We had such a lovely time travelling through the Kimberley with Mark and Carmel at the helm and thoroughly enjoyed and was enriched by the company of our travelling companions.
As a confirmed independent traveller, I had grave reservations about joining a bus tour but Adventure Wild offer a whole different experience from the norm in group travel and an attractive and different calibre of client.
Itinerary, accommodation and food were outstanding: so much fresh food was an unanticipated highlight. Carmel and Mark were wonderful: genuinely lovely people who are so capable, considerate and inclusive. For me Carmel’s knowledge of the Kimberley including the history and many anecdotal stories really embellished my Kimberly experience.
I would and have recommended your trip as an enriching and relaxing holiday experience!
Many thanks and all the best for future Kimberley Adventures with Adventure Wild.
Dear Simone,
We are writing to thank Adventure Wild for our fantastic Kimberley tour recently. We loved every minute of the 12 days and thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited. In particular, we would like to thank Mark and Carmel who looked after us so well and made the trip run like clockwork.
Please find some specific comments below:
Pre tour Service:
Both our travel agent and ourselves were very happy with the booking service and the pre tour information and assistance provided to us prior to the tour. Our travel agent had not previously heard of Adventure Wild so we will pass on some brochures.
Itinerary:
The tour was a good mix of long/busy days and quieter time. We appreciated that we needed to start early on particular days to get to places in a timely manner. Mark and Carmel’s organization was exemplary and made everything run very smoothly.
Meals:
We were very spoilt with the quality, variety and quantity of the meals and snacks provided. The meals were outstanding and we were very well fed. Lorraine’s dietary needs were very well catered for and we appreciated the care that Carmel took in contacting her prior to the tour.
Campsites:
The campsites varied but were all very adequate and well set up. The bathrooms were varied, but a number provided much better facilities than we expected.
Tour Guides:
Mark and Carmel led our tour in the best possible manner. Their friendly, out-going, personalities make them ideal for this role. We enjoyed their company and their love of the Kimberley showed in the information that they shared with us throughout the tour. They are both extremely well organized and had considered all possibilities in making the tour run smoothly. Little problems were no hassle and they dealt with any little variations/issues easily and efficiently.
Comfort Generally:
A camping tour by its very nature mean’s you will be “roughing it” to some extent. We had no problems with the comfort of the bus or any of the campsites. The swags were comfortable.
Hygiene:
Carmel and Mark made every effort to make sure all dishes etc were kept clean and hygienic. We were impressed by the freshness and the way all the food was handled. Personal hand washing was always available.
Other Comments:
We have had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of Australia. We enjoyed being with the other people on the tour and we had lots of fun together. We appreciated the provision of the water bottles but would have preferred a smaller less bulky container than the canteens – our only criticism. Mark and Carmel were fantastic tour leaders and we thank them and Adventure Wild for a great trip. We will be highly recommending this trip to others.
Our thanks and warmest regards,
Hi Simone & Karl
I’ve not long finished the Broome to Broome 12 day tour with Liz & Phil and wanted to let you know that I throughly enjoyed every day.
The scenery is AWESOME, the Gibb River Road an experience, the whole tour package is well organized and carried through with wonderful guides in Liz & Phil…. nothing was a hassle to them down to answering the same question multiple times. I admired their patience, tolerance and what seemed to be endless energy.
Well done everyone for a great trip!
Have a great day
Thank you for an amazing tour through the Kimberley’s. Every part of the trip was fantastic.
Mark and Carmel were outstanding hosts who left no stone unturned. Their knowledge of the areas was first class and gave me a wonderful experience.
Our group also contributed hugely to an incredible holiday.
I would throughly recommend Adventure Wild trips through the beautiful north of Western Australia
