Testimonial for Adventure Wild

David & Chris Gumley

Year of Tour: 2018

Simone,

August has almost passed and we have been home for a couple of weeks after our 18000 klm (inc Adventure Wild #19 tour) grand WA trip.

Time to post my testimonial:

I have read many testimonials on your web site and without exception their comments and descriptions all ring so true for us.

Adding to my previous comments however, I would like to add a different perspective in my Testimonial.

I have been battling a “medical condition” since early 2014.  The outcome of which is that I now have a “somewhat compromised” immune system.  I have to avoid picking up viral bugs… or it’s off to hospital asap to go on the drip.  To travel into remote areas such as the Kimberley/GBR was a risky option for me, given any  infections need to be treated ASAP.

How lucky were we to have Cheryl and Wayne (Gools and Thommo) as our tour leaders.

Their Camp management and organisation skills were (IMHO) “exceptional”.

Gool’s is an exrtaordinary “Cook”. The quality and variety of the meals presented to us was simply fantastic.  (Thommo peels a pretty good spud too).

But for me their organisation and hygiene risk management was absolutely first class.  Being able to reduce my anxiety and fears about remote travel with a group, was a major plus for me personally.  It enabled me to confidently experience a part of Australia which I had given up on a couple of years ago.  And what a great experience it was.

I have taken this tack with my comments to encourage those who may be in the same boat as me with their health, and who in turn may think that they may not be able to experience the Kimberley, to consider the option of contacting Adventure Wild!

I also learnt a lot about “social issues” and “history” of the region, which I’d previously formed flawed opinions (based on my own ignorance) .

Thank you Thommo and thank you Gools.

By the way.. The Gorges, camps, travelling etc were great too!!!   But if I never have to struggle with, and get tied up in knots with a sleeping bag again in my life, I can live with that..

Cheers
