We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
I had a wonderful trip up the Gibb River Road. Adey and Corf were the perfect hosts.
Corf’s calm way of dealing with the unexpected was very impressive; Adey’s mastery of the camp kitchen was truly amazing. Those meals were delicious. Please pass on my sincere thanks to them both.
Thanks for all your help in getting me there.

Thanks for this, I am only just now getting around to doing the wrap up on our Kimberley adventure. Fran and I both had a fantastic time with Gooles and Thomo and we are still glowing in the aftermath. It’s a bit annoying how, once you get home, life and work seems to get in the way of reliving the experience!
I’ve told many people about Adventure Wild and will continue to sing your praises at every opportunity. I cannot imagine having done this trip with any other company. Thomo and Gooles are such fantastic people, funny and knowledgeable and they work so incredibly hard to make sure that everyone has the absolute best experience. It’s hard to even speculate on how the tour could have been any better.
Although I would venture to suggest that time could be saved and angst avoided if there was an alternative to the swags. Fran and I would sometimes get into hysterics trying to roll these things up in the allocated time frame and still get to eat breakfast! Often Thomo would come to the rescue! Not complaining though … it was all part of the fun. It’s also funny how we learned to make our tea first in the morning so it could cool a bit while we ate and then we would swig it down quickly in time for the clear up! It’s the little things … Lol!

G’day, I did fill in the survey form on the bus, but forgot to mention Greg’s didj playing especially in Cathedral Gorge, it silenced everyone who was there ( around 50 people). Fantastic.
We enjoyed the trip immensely, all adventuresome, some 4wd’ing, extra side trips for animals, birds, plants & trees, stops on the spur of the moment, like when we passed a muster camp, right on the roadside & Choccky asked could we take pics & we talked to the blokes. The 2 sunset drinks & nibbles outings to see the cliffs change colour . He (Greg) took us over a creek, dropped us off, drove back over & came over again just so we could all get pics of OUR bus doing some adventurous stuff.
Now we are home &…………..I have to cook!!! oh darn!!! the food Choccky fed us was soooo nice, plenty of it, snacks when we went on the gorge walks ( for energy to walk back!!) lollies & fruit in the bus.
All good, & I have already told others about how wonderful it all was & that they should go.

The tour was great, it exceeded our expectations. I doubt if we could have had a better couple to lead us, inform us, care for us and cook for us than Greg & Choccy. Greg in particular is very knowledgeable and seems passionate about the Kimberley and its wildlife, ecology, flora etc.
Thanks to your organisation.

I wanted to give you some feedback from our trip to the Kimberley’s with Carmel and Mark. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves very much and this was due to several things.
1. The great organisation, everything worked really smoothly the days were well planned and although Carmel and Mark worked really hard to keep us all in track it did not feel at all stressful for us the tourists. Although we did have a strict timetable we did not feel we were rushed and we’re encouraged to take our time walking into the gorges to look around and take photos.
2. The tents and beds were really comfortable, I was worried that I would not be able to sleep because of being on the ground but we found the beds very warm and comfortable, in fact I had trouble getting up because I was so happy in bed. I think because we were getting up early, being energetic and exhausted by the end of the day also helped with sleeping. It was lovely to have most of the tents put up for us already, just made it much easier to walk into a tent rather than work on erecting it before unpacking each day. It was also nice to have a couple of nights in the same place so that did not have to pack up our beds and bags each day, I appreciated that.
3. Of course the scenery was fantastic, I think the gorges were very special, I loved the fact of walking into a gorge and not knowing what to expect, Carmel and Mark tried to time things so that it was not too crowded which made it much nicer, especially in some of the smaller pools. The waterfalls and pools were just lovely and whether you swam or not it was very special to just sit and enjoy the cool places. I was worried about the amount of walking but in the end I felt the amount we did was very do able, both Jim and I were fine with walking and did not feel over stretched. We were worried about walking in the heat but the afternoon walks were often in gorges with shade so that was not a problem, everything was so well planned.
4. I would particularly like to thank Carmel who worked really hard at making special meals for me, she said she had not cooked vegan food before but she managed really well at the same time cooking for everyone else. She was a wonder. I also felt Mark and Carmel were very aware of everyone’s needs and capabilities and made sure everyone got as much out of the trip as they wanted and were able to achieve. They kept a close eye on everyone and made sure they were OK.
5. The group was a great size, we had 14, including. Mark and Carmel, and it meant we got to know everyone, we all managed to talk to everyone and yet not be “stuck” with anyone, we all got on very well and helped each other and looked out for each other. It was nice there was a variety of ages and backgrounds it made for interesting conversations.
So thank you Simone and your team for organising such a great holiday, I had been wanting to explore the Kimberley’s for several years and had kept putting it off but I am very glad I have now done this great trip. The countryside is very special and a beautiful part of Australia.

First of all a big thanks to Thommo and Gools.
It was a challenging camping trip for me and Janet, especially the first 2 days with pitching tents up and down, managing the swag and camp stretcher, scrambling over rocks and coping with the routine. It took us out of our comfort zone but we made with the help of Thommo and Gools, (plus great food every night – we especially love the Thai dish) and our camping companions. We can look back on a great experience.
Thank you.

Our trip had been on our radar for the past 2 years since we first came across Adventure Wild at the Caravan, Camping and Leisure show in Canberra Oct ’13. It was high on Marie’s bucket list and in October ’14 we decided to book our trip on the 2015 year.
So we took a month off work, departed Canberra to Darwin on 1/7/15 to escape the Canberra Winter and to get some colour up so were weren’t the proverbial snowflake prior to the tour and we had never been to Darwin, so ticked that off.
Knowing who our tour couple would be (Corf & Adey) and then meeting them in person in Canberra in March at another show, provided a great opportunity to ask any last minute questions etc. After 5 minutes it was like we had known each other for years, relaxed, talking about the adventure, my dietary needs (thanks Adey for looking after me). I was amazed at how both Corf and Adey made everyone feel safe, plenty of food and I still rave about how Adey just mysteriously made food appear and I heard nothing but great remarks.
The “Swag” rolling demonstration, detailed history of the areas and the characters that made the Kimberly’s (John Darcy) all added up to a well researched and interesting tour. I remarked to Marie this morning that the next tour (16) would be heading up Geikie Gorge today before heading back to Broome.
The team is truly professional and I have raved on to all since my return of just how great the trip was, how much fun we had and the places we visited. I have passed on your brochure, my Gibb River Road book and photos to my Daughter in Laws parents who are very keen to undertake the same trip.
It was the trip of a lifetime and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute, please pass on my appreciation to both Corf & Adey who made the trip what it was. If you guys are coming over in October for the Caravan show let me know, both Marie and I will come out wearing our Adventure Wild caps and catch up.
Thanks again for a truly magnificent trip.

We have travelled a lot and are quite discerning. We had not camped since our youth and had some trepidation about our forthcoming tour. Well, our reservations were soon dispelled. Our trip was one of the highlights of our lives. It would not have been possible without Carmel and Mark who tirelessly and effortlessly ensured that we all had a great time and introduced us to the splendours of the Kimberley.
We met great people who came from disparate backgrounds and soon found that we had much in common – the campfire and a couple of beverages contributed to the enjoyment. We thank Carmel and Mark and our fellow travellers for making it a very special trip.
