We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs

The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera

The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray

Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger

Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner

To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam

The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson

The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.

Hi Simone
Ian and I would like to commend your company on the excellent Adventure Wild 12 day Kimberley Adventurer trip we did from 1st to 12 May, 2019
We initially met Simone and Karl at the Caravan and Camping Show in Melbourne and the concept of tenting our way around the remote Kimberley seemed like it might be a challenge and fun and it was all of that and more. This tour was a great way to get a snapshot of a remote area that might otherwise be inaccessible for some people and we learnt and saw more from our guides than doing it alone.
Everything was so well organised fron the initial bookings with Simone, to Carmel accomodating my dietary need, to an arrival phone call in Broome from Karl. Amazing!
And when we thought that was really good we had the good fortune of meeting our guides, chefs and drivers and by the end our friends Mark and Carmel. Their love of Australia and the Kimberley region was infectious. We look forward to returning to WA.
The daily organisation was fantastic and they worked so hard to give us all a really rewarding journey. We were blown away with how much knowledge and interest they had in the flora, fauna and geology of the region and about the life on a cattle station.
And the preparation and delivery everyday of such yummy meals in a such a remote location !
Camping in tents, sleeping in swags , dining under the stars, chatting around a camp fire, participating in the daily camp chores like the dishes , helped to bring the group together and provided a great social aspect and the making of new friendships and we thank everyone that was on our tour for so many laughs and making this holiday such a memorable, relaxing and fantastic experience from start to finish.
Our Rating
10 out of 10
We have no hesitation in recommending this tour and our guides Mark and Carmel.
I can thoroughly recommend Adventure Wild. All questions and concerns before the trip were answered promptly and patiently making it evident from the start that this is a very professional boutique tour group, passionate about introducing guests to the Kimberley.
The itinerary was well thought out, including all the main places of interest, and a number of two night stops ensured that we were not rushed but had time to relax and to thoroughly absorb the amazing landscapes. Ours was the final trip of the season and, as warned by Adventure Wild staff, it was very hot but there were always options along the way so that we could pace ourselves to be comfortable. A non-swimmer, I found myself ‘swimming’ in stunning gorges, billabongs, rivers and the clear waters of Lake Argyle.
Full marks to our two exceptional leaders, Gools and Thommo, for their skilled driving along endless rutted roads, their thorough organisation and attention to every detail including matters of hygiene, their background facilitation in moulding us into a cohesive, fun loving team, and their patience and sense of humour.
My appreciation for the Kimberley landscape and its people, (indigenous and more recent) was greatly enhanced by the knowledge, insights and storytelling particularly of Thommo. We were thrilled to be taken to an ‘undiscovered’ area of rock art. Gools, with Thommo’s assistance, produced deliciously healthy meals in the camp kitchen. She also managed to remain amazingly calm and level headed when a huge king brown snake joined us after dinner one night!
The tour is over but the memories and impact on me of my time in the Kimberley will live on.
Hi Simone,
I had a wonderful time. It exceeded my expectations. Gools and Thommo were terrific. They were informative and had a wealth of knowledge. They were very organized and all that helped make our trip run smoothly. They informed us along the way. The food was the best, quite nutritious and a there was a variety of meals, certainly not your everyday camping foods. The friendliness of the group also added to the overall trip.
I would like to extend my gratitude to you and your company and the overall team for a wonderful trip. I have already been recommending “Adventure Wild “ to those I talk to about my trip through the Kimberley. I will definitely continue to recommend it. WOW WHAT A GREAT TRIP.
Thank-you, kind regards
Hi Simone and Karl
A few comments on my Kimberley tour 8 – 19 august 2019:
- Pre-tour service excellent. Communication and advice from Simone and Karl was prompt and accurate.
- Itinerary was excellent. The pace was good, with sufficient time to enjoy each site and also time to relax.
- Meals were exceptional. Plenty to eat, with healthy alternatives and variety. Well prepared by Mark and Carmel.
- Campsites were very good – the more remote, the more enjoyable for me.
- Tour guides Mark and Carmel were fantastic. Knowledgeable and interesting commentary. Always willing to help out tour members having difficulty. Helped generate camaraderie among the group.
- Despite the corrugations on the Gibbs river Road, the ride in the bus was very enjoyable. I found the swags were quite comfortable and warm enough on the chilly nights.
- Good attention to hygiene in preparation and clean-up at meal times.
Summary
Congratulations on making my trip to such a beautiful part of Australia so enjoyable. The planning and organisation and guides were terrific. Part of the pleasure was meeting with people from a diverse set of backgrounds and becoming solid friends during the trip. I have recommended Adventure Wild’s Kimberley trip to several friends and one is already planning to do it in 2019.
Regards
Congratulations on a wonderful product! It was well paced with a special highlight each day, subtly ever-changing landscape, group size just right and the option of adding on attractions made it affordable to anyone; however the clinchers for me were the tents already set up and no single supplement !
While the natural attractions, stunning sunsets, sunrises, and huge starry night skies are the same for everyone, I feel what set your product apart was the quality of your personnel – Gools and Thommo . What gems you have there. I observed other guides we met on the way and was so glad we had the Dynamic Duo. Not only were they knowledgeable on many subjects, they were passionate and professional, ever helpful, kind, capable, practiced, cheerful, sharing of their own life experiences, experienced at getting camp ready, harmoniously able to work together as a team, create a relaxed, happy atmosphere among the group and interested in each of us.
Oh and did I mention Thommo’s story telling skills and his sympathetic rendering of the plight of the Aborigines ?
And as for Gools’ culinary skills! We dined in a different country each night.
A fabulous trip that will stay in my memory as a highlight for a long time.
Thank you, Simone and Karl for a great tour.
I would just like to add to the rest of the glowing tributes to Adventure Wild.
My Tour 35 was headed by Gools and Thommo and what a team they are. The trip was absolutely terrific . I had really no idea that it would be so high above my expectations…scenery, food, the company and even the swags and tents made for an extraordinary and never to be forgotten holiday.
THANK YOU
Thanks Simone
Chris and I have only just arrived back home in Tassie from our whirl-wind circumnavigation of Australia. We had the most amazing time with Phil and Liz and the rest of the beautiful guys on our tour of the Gibb River Road. Loved every minute of it!!! Will share adventures in the near future once we settle in again at home.
Keep up the good work and look after those amazing guides, they really deserve a pat on the back, as do you guys for all your friendly and professional assistance.
Many thanks again
Hi Simone
A BIG THANK YOU for your promptness in replying to any queries and being behind the organisation of such a great tour. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects with the hardest part being settling back into our ‘normal’ life in cold Melbourne.
Thanks again and best wishes to you and your team
Hi and thank you for a an amazing experience.
It certainly exceeded my expectations, largely due to the very professional and amazing care that was provided by Liz and Phil.
They are exceptional people and I would not hesitate to recommend Adventure Wild to family and friends.
Kind regards
Simone,
August has almost passed and we have been home for a couple of weeks after our 18000 klm (inc Adventure Wild #19 tour) grand WA trip.
Time to post my testimonial:
I have read many testimonials on your web site and without exception their comments and descriptions all ring so true for us.
Adding to my previous comments however, I would like to add a different perspective in my Testimonial.
I have been battling a “medical condition” since early 2014. The outcome of which is that I now have a “somewhat compromised” immune system. I have to avoid picking up viral bugs… or it’s off to hospital asap to go on the drip. To travel into remote areas such as the Kimberley/GBR was a risky option for me, given any infections need to be treated ASAP.
How lucky were we to have Cheryl and Wayne (Gools and Thommo) as our tour leaders.
Their Camp management and organisation skills were (IMHO) “exceptional”.
Gool’s is an exrtaordinary “Cook”. The quality and variety of the meals presented to us was simply fantastic. (Thommo peels a pretty good spud too).
But for me their organisation and hygiene risk management was absolutely first class. Being able to reduce my anxiety and fears about remote travel with a group, was a major plus for me personally. It enabled me to confidently experience a part of Australia which I had given up on a couple of years ago. And what a great experience it was.
I have taken this tack with my comments to encourage those who may be in the same boat as me with their health, and who in turn may think that they may not be able to experience the Kimberley, to consider the option of contacting Adventure Wild!
I also learnt a lot about “social issues” and “history” of the region, which I’d previously formed flawed opinions (based on my own ignorance) .
Thank you Thommo and thank you Gools.
By the way.. The Gorges, camps, travelling etc were great too!!! But if I never have to struggle with, and get tied up in knots with a sleeping bag again in my life, I can live with that..
Cheers
