We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs

The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera

The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray

Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger

Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner

To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam

The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson

The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
Wow! Thankyou Simone, Liz and Phil for the best experience camping in the Kimberley! We had a great bunch of people and were so well cared for by Liz and Phil. Their knowledge of the Kimberley and experience is exceptional. The camp meals were so trasty and varied daily. Tents and swags comfy too. The itinerary enabled us to experience so many wonderful sites.
As I am profoundly deaf and have cochlear and HA, I really appreciated that Liz and Phil (and the group) were so understanding, ensurfing that it was never an issue to be able to ‘recharge’ batteries. It was good to have 2 spare seats on the bus.
I highly recommend Adventure Wild! An experience of a lifetime.
Hi Simone,
We had a wonderful trip with Sonya & Andrew, and will recommend to others.
Thankyou.
Sonya and Andrew a fantastic team
Looked after us all and fed us all very well

Good morning Karl and Simone,
It was a fabulous trip and I am so grateful that I was able to see and experience so many diverse things.
We had a brand new vehicle, the weather behaved itself, great guides and the country looked its glorious best.

A World-Class Adventure through the Kimberley Region – Unforgettable!
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a magnificent 12-day journey through the captivating Kimberley Region, and I must say, it was an experience beyond compare. Highly recommended by an old school friend, the tour took place on the 14th of July, 2023, and brought together a diverse and lively group of friendly couples and adventurous individuals, ranging in age from 55 to an inspiring 80-year-old traveller.
From the very start, our tour guides, Liz and Phil, impressed us with their consummate professionalism. Their caring, passionate approach combined with a fantastic sense of humour made the journey engaging, educational, and truly enjoyable. The itinerary was superbly organized, transforming our trip into a world-class experience filled with varied adventures and spectacular scenery.
One aspect that struck me was the depth of my newfound understanding of the Kimberley Region. Having grown up in Australia, it was humbling to realize how little I knew about this magnificent part of my own country.
The tour exceeded all my expectations, thanks to the meticulous attention to detail spearheaded by Simone and Karl. The operation ran like a well-oiled machine, allowing us to focus solely on immersing ourselves in the stunning landscapes, forging new friendships, and capturing our experiences through countless photographs. The breathtaking gorges and sensational national parks that adorned our journey left us in awe at every turn.
Our accommodation was comfortable, featuring top-quality tents and swags, complete with a mattress, a fitted and flat sheet, a pillow with pillowcase, and a sleeping bag that we could keep or ask for to be donated to a Broome charity on our return. All meals and snacks were provided, and frequent hydration breaks were an essential part of maintaining energy and clarity in this environment (a groovy water canteen was provided).
During the day, we ventured on numerous treks through varied and sometimes challenging terrain, and trekking poles were thoughtfully provided, proving essential for many in our group. Safety was paramount throughout our journey, from the clean, air-conditioned, reliable 4WD bus to the practical advice offered for each trek. The Kimberley night sky was a sight to behold, offering excellent opportunities for astrophotography, and the sliding windows on the bus allowed for effortless landscape photography on-the-go.
Among the high points of the tour was the remarkable Cathedral Gorge, a natural amphitheatre with astounding acoustics, located within the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park. The vastness of our surroundings often left us speechless, and frequent swims in thermal pools, gorges, and rivers added an element of refreshment and fun to our journey.
Conveniently, laundry facilities were available at Kununurra and El Questro, the latter of which was an excellent spot for picking up unique gifts either in their gift shop/bar or from the artist-in-residence studio shop.
The indigenous healing circle held at El Questro was an optional activity and provided profound insights into some local indigenous culture. However, while on the Ord River Cruise we were somewhat disappointed when questions about indigenous history were brushed aside as being too political by that tour company.
Each night, we retired early, ready to embrace the dawn by 5 or 6 am, allowing us to make the most of our days. Along our journey, we encountered a variety of wildlife and admired the beautiful Boab trees lining our route. Birdwatching opportunities were abundant for those with a keen eye.
Packing advice: Thongs (flip-flops) for the showers are a must, and avoiding overpacking is wise. The canvas bag provided by Adventure Wild is a perfect size, strong, and easy to carry. Perhaps consider investing in a pair or two of Patagonia’s Happy Hike Studio Pants, which can be easily washed (a small squirt of detergent and water inside a zip-lock bag then agitated) and will dry by the following morning if you squeeze, wrap, squeeze again in a towel, and hang up in your tent overnight, making them ideal for travelling comfortably, easy to get on in the dark and after swims too!
Now I’ve returned home, I have countless cherished memories and an abundance of photographs to process, which I eagerly look forward to sharing with my fellow travellers and tour guides. To all those considering a journey through the Kimberley Region, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. It was an awe-inspiring, outstanding experience that I will never forget. This is not just a trip; it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deeply explore and appreciate the grandeur and beauty of the Kimberley Region.
For those contemplating when to book, I wholeheartedly recommend the cooler months of June, July, or August, as September begins to heat up apparently.
Well done Adventure Wild!
Hi Simone,
As we sit in the cold temperatures of a NZ winter, we remember that wonderful trip we had with you guys. It’s still up there as one of the best ever, if not the best.
Gary had his foot checked out by our GP who almost fell off his chair laughing that he was ‘attended to’ by a midwife and vet nurse. It makes a good story!
Our thanks again for an absolutely amazing tour. You guys are the best.
While we got to thank Lana and Karl in person we never forgot the planning and coordination and the million things that you put in to each tour, Simone. It was very much appreciated.
Hope you are all well.
Kindest regards
Hi Simone,
Peter and I absolutely loved our trip. 10/10 . Phil and Liz were the best. I am going through my photos now ( it’s going to take a while) .
Thank you so much.
Kind regards,
Hi Simone and Karl,
Well, where do I start !
My wife Robyn and I had booked to do an APT chartered cruise on Le Laperouse from Broome to Darwin in June but for various reasons had to cancel.
I was keen to see the Kimberley by land and on the recommendation of our friend Julie Jenkin, I booked with your company (Jules travelled with you last year or the year before ). I asked my brother Joe to join me as it wasn’t Robyn’s sort of adventure. It turned out well in the end as the appreciation of the land, sights and sounds and all the trip offered on so many levels was immense and hugely satisfying.
Let me start with you.
Your outstanding communications, both by phone and email made planning and understanding the forthcoming trip a breeze. You must be hard wired to your phone as I have never experienced in all my years in business someone who responds so quickly! The back of house is crucial to what you do and nothing was left to chance or overlooked. 10/10.
Then we had Phil and Liz as our tour guides and fearless leaders ! What a win to start the trip with.
Fabulous Phil, the bush philosopher with his store of “Philisms” to suit every location, situation and occasion. When temporarily ” detained ” in the Barnett River, Phil had to quietly correct those of us who were excited at getting bogged and us referring to our situation as such, by saying “you are never bogged if you can get out by yourself ” …..and that is precisely what we did with Phil’s experience and can do attitude winning the day. And a great conjurer of terrific evening meals to boot.
Loverly Liz, caring, kind, forever patient, organised, energetic, knowledgeable and incredibly hard working. We all looked forward to Liz’s nightly talkie talks where she outlined the next day’s activities and destinations, fielding numerous questions from us with consumate ease and experience. Her daily lunches were a highlight and eagerly consumed by all. They made a great team and seemed to enjoy our company as much as we did theirs.
The trip itself was a great balance of a hands on camping experience with swags, tents and campfires together with the indulgence of being transported, guided, fed and watered by others.
By the end of the adventure, we mostly reckoned we had a more fulfilling experience than some of our fellow Gibb River Road glampers in their leather seated Mercedes buses with air suspension (well maybe all except for the air suspension!)
With early to bed and earlier to rise being the modus operandi, I certainly felt wealthier and wiser for the experience.
I am now looking forward to returning next year with my wife Robyn and to experience this world class part of Australia by sea.
All the very best with the rest of your season and to many more delighted customers.
Regards and a huge thanks,
10 out of 10 for everything. It was a most fantastic trip – the food, the camping locations, the locations we visited, walked and swam in and, of course, the fabulous hosts, Liz and Phil. I cannot imagine any other couple who could surpass them! The group gelled together so well and everyone made new friends. Most fantastic experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to see the spectacular Kimberley.
With best wishes,
Thank you for a wonderful trip. Andrew and Sonya are really terrific guides and lovely people. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
