We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
We just completed this trip a week ago and cannot praise it enough.
Our guides, Gools & Thommo, were amazing drivers, Fantastic cooks, considerate and kind carers, super organised and knowledgeable guides. Nothing was too difficult for them to deal with and they topped it all off with a great sense of humour. The itinerary was amazing. Who knew that The Kimberley had so many Gorges and swimming holes. Lots of beautiful walks through incredible places. The Gibb River Road is wild and rugged. Purnululu NP (Bungle Bungles) is simply stunning. Campsites, tents and swags were brilliant.
If you are thinking about doing the Kimberley and love a bit of camping, I thoroughly recommend Adventure Wild.
Did I mention the food – yummmmm.
GO FOR IT….
Hi Simone,
After researching all the available tours to the Kimberleys, we decided on Adventure Wild for their itinerary, inclusions, optional tours, guide experience and affordability. We travelled in June and could not have had a better experience. The Kimberley region is so extraordinary that we were in awe of every hike, swimming hole, flight and cruise.
Our guides, Peter and Sarah were so exceptional that they provided us with safe travelling, excellent meals (how they do this out of that trailer astounded us all) and expert guiding throughout the hikes. We all felt very safe in their care (which is vital in such a remote region). The camaraderie of the group was evident from the first hike and swim through very cold and dark waters of Tunnel Creek, where we all assisted each other to get through. From then on we all pitched in helping on hikes, washing up, putting away, helping Peter load the bus, etc. The tents and swags were very comfortable and we all slept very well. Our highlight would be the Mitchell Falls tour (a long day but so worth it).
Simone, your communication before the tour was amazing, the information pack included everything we needed but you also quickly answered any email we sent to you, so thank you to both you and Karl.
Kind regards,
Thanks Simone and Karl,
Your responses were always quick and helpful.
Absolutely fabulous, we loved the experience and sights of the Kimberley.
Gools and Thommo’s passion and enthusiasm, preparation and systems, including gourmet meals made for an amazing 12 days.
We will be recommending Adventure Wild Kimberley Tours to our fellow Kiwis.
Regards
Adventure Wild tour May / June 2024
We had the best time on our Adventure Wild tour of the Kimberley. Phil and Liz were outstanding hosts – professional, very knowledgeable, caring and really fun. The places we visited were so beautiful, and there was so much to see. Our first few days where we travelled and camped through the Gibb River road were so remote, it was so unspoiled and incredibly special. The walks and swimming in the gorges and waterfalls were amazing. The camping was great, the company fun, and the meals were delicious – we called the trailer “the Tardis” as so many things just kept appearing out of it!
Being off the grid for phone and internet for much of the time also really helped to just tune in and enjoy the experience.
From my first inquiry through to our entire trip, our experience was excellent. Simone was so responsive, answering any queries, providing all the information we needed to ensure we had what we needed when we were booking the trip. Phil and Liz made sure we had just the right amount of information we needed to be ready for each day, without having to stress over anything.
I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Thank you.
Hi Simone,
We had a wonderful trip, which I really thoroughly enjoyed. Peter and Sarah were absolutely outstanding guides.
Thanks for a great tour,
Thanks Simone,
Overall it was a fantastic trip and I feel very privileged to have been able to experience so much of the beauty and wonder of the Kimberley. I will be speaking positively about Adventure Wild.
Sarah and Peter were brilliant guides also- they made the whole package and group work well together
With thanks
Hi Simone, thanks so much for everything.
The trip was a fabulous adventure and our guides Sarah and Peter took such great care of us. I felt we could relate and rely on them completely.
Also Simone the communication with you had been great. You have always responded so promptly to my many enquiries. I wish you well with your beautiful business and will recommend Adventure Wild to everyone I know who wants to visit the beautiful Kimberley.
All the best
Hi Simone,
Thank you for such an amazing tour. Liz & Phil made it a great experience for all of us and it opened our eyes to the wonderful landscapes of the Kimberley.
Many thanks again,
Hi Simone and Karl,
Thanks so much for providing such a fabulous trip through this amazing part of our country. I have had such a mind blowing experience not only because of this spectacular place, but also because of the care, expertise and general wonderfulness of Gools and Thommo, who go above and beyond their job description 24/7. I can’t thank them enough. And to top all this off, we had such a laid-back, fun loving group of adventurers to share stories and laugh with.
I will be singing your praises (as will Sue and Gail), so I hope you have a large number of adventurers from the Shoalhaven in the future. Thanks so much for providing this wonderful experience for us!
Dear Simone and Karl,
Good morning. Yes, I would like it very much to keep in touch with the guides and my travel buddies in this group.
To me, the last 12 days have been a pilgrimage – paying homage to nature and this country.., to experience valleys and gorges and land shaped by wind and water over 340 million years ago has been the most profound experience of my life, second only to the joy of giving birth to my son.
From our very first interaction in August last year to bidding goodbye to Gools and Thommo last eve – I continue to be impressed by this rare blend of professionalism and familial warmth that I consider to be the trademark of Adventure Wild.
The attention to detail in planning, ensuring individual needs are understood and catered for, sensitivity to vulnerabilities of physical limitations, the gentle care such as chux wipes to keep cool and Electrolytes during the Mitchell Plateau walks, providing and adjusting the walking poles, tips on preparing for challenging walks – have made this a safe, exciting and rewarding experience.
Golden Gools – as she’s both a fabulous cook an amazing travel guide surprised me with her ability to produce exquisite Vegetarian dishes every single meal to meet my dietary requirements — she even came up with frozen mango mousse dessert in the remote Bungle Bungles, and..
Titan Thommo made me feel safe by offering to roll my swag, keeping vigil on steep terrains … his superb ability to drive a large truck in corrugated roads and river beds while still giving commentary during and after, stands testament to his passion for what he does – a pair of well suited guides and a delightful couple…
It is sheer joy to be in their company and they manage group dynamics with such finesse and grace and careful humour.
I could go on and on. Hats off to you and your team Simone, for what the tour offers and the effort it takes to pull it all off in remote terrain and sparsely populated areas, from maintaining relationships with your networks in the region, the trucks and equipments – to putting up the permanent tents … I am surprised by your pricing … it leaves me speechless and I’m in awe!
