We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.

The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.

To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.

The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.

ADVENTURE WILD KIMBERLEY TOURS
My wife and I could not be more grateful to Adventure Wild for the 12 day Broome to Broome tour we shared with 15 others, including hosts Mark and Carmel, in June 2017.
We are very cost conscious and carefully chose this trip as being the best ‘value for money’ we could find. In hindsight we are certain it was.
How wonderful to be carried along with every day and highlight perfectly planned. Our hosts were marvellous – helpful, courteous, caring, fair, friendly and fun. The meals they prepared were all healthy and varied.
Travelling was easy with conservative, safe driving and with stops every day for lunches and morning and afternoon teas, always at interesting places. Campsites and evening drinks (in moderation) by campfires were fantastic.
Being 75 and my wife 72, both of us in ‘reasonable/average’ health and condition for our ages, we were initially a little anxious about our physical ability to ‘keep up’. In the end we missed only one of 11 testing walks, let’s say due to our age. Most days were long but well worth it.
Advice we received about optional extras was excellent. We chose only the Ord River 55km. boat trip and the Bungles 40min. chopper ride. Both were excellent value (for the Kimberley) and in our opinion each was a ‘must do’.
In hindsight, this was our ‘number one’ trip of a lifetime (having travelled overseas 3 times and most of Australia).
Thank you to Adventure Wild.
I would be more than happy to discuss our experience with any prospective Adventure Wild guest.
Hi Simone and Karl,
I just wanted to thank everybody involved with Adventure Wild for an absolutely wonderful holiday incredibly well organised from start to finish.
It was fun to set up our own tents on the first night but great to have the permanent tents for the remainder and the two night stays added to the relaxed feeling.
I was very happy with all the campsites each having its own special attraction.
Mark and Carmel were superb guides, always professional, knowledgeable, helpful and a lot of fun.
I was in awe of Carmels ability to create such varied healthy and delicious meals in a camp conditions, not to mention Marks skills with his magic camp oven pot that produced an array of sweet and savoury foods from roast chicken, vegetables, apple crumble and of course damper.
As for the places we visited, they were simply breathtaking, nothing compares to the rugged beauty of the Kimberley. It is so hard to pick a favourite, not sure if it was the sunsetting at Windjana Gorge, lighting up the cliff as if it was on fire and then in the early morning the fresh water crocs sunbaking in the perfect stillness, such a magical place. Or maybe one of the many other gorges with their refreshing swimming holes, or the amazing trips down the Ord river and Fitzroy river, or even just seeing so many Boab trees all with such personalities.
I loved it all and would happily recommend Adventure Wild to anyone considering a trip to the Kimberley.

Friends recommended your tour to me and from the moment I contacted Adventure Wild I received all the help and information I needed, not to mention that this was immediate! So I had a good idea of how things worked before I even started.
The pace of the tour was excellent – really efficient without any actual pressure. And time to relax. I did not quite realise that this was a gorge-walk and swim tour at heart and am very pleased that this was so. It was very hot (for me, from Canberra) and this was also handled sensibly by Phil and Liz and the group – always ready early with no fuss. The group was also really great and gave great support to Phil and Liz and it was good to be part of this.
Liz and Phil are excellent – the best driver/guide team I have known as far as engaging with us all is concerned. They have endless patience, are extremely tolerant, they treat everyone equitably, they trust everyone to get things done and create a cooperative environment whereby everyone hops in and works out what to do to get the camp set up and closed down and fed, washed up etc. Their attitude ensures that this happens magically. And Phil is an excellent driver and walk-leader/pacer etc. And Liz sits with the group on the bus and keep everyone informed and happy. I don’t know how they do it really but am very impressed.
Well, this one was pretty comfortable. The tents and swags work well and were comfortable for me. So, although people seemed to have many bright ideas in this area, my idea is that you have worked it out and are the experts with experience so it’s fine by me. The fruit in the bus is an excellent idea – that adds to the comfort really.
Make sure you keep Liz and Phil for as long as you can! This was a great trip – also, I really enjoyed the optional extras, for me, this was especially the flight over the NE coast line and the visit to the Kalumburu Mission – fascinating. I enjoyed the visit to the women’s art centre too but particularly the mission – I have been to several and really enjoy seeing and experiencing some of that history.
Overall, thanks very much for a great experience.

Good morning Simone
Thank you for this information and the whole trip was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The pre tour service was very friendly and efficient and the information about the trip contains vital details that enabled me to be realistically prepared.
I am also grateful for the way my luggage was managed everything was waiting for me at agreed points as promised.
The itinerary included all the places that I wanted to see and more. While the pace was steady I never felt rushed and could enjoy the moments. I loved staying 2 nights in most places as that helped me to relax into the wonderful surroundings.
Carmel and Mark are very organised and gave clear instructions all along the way so I felt I was always adequately prepared for the event.
The meals were delicious with plenty of variety and best of all for me was the nutritious salads and vegetables on offer. This takes very smart planning in isolated outback country. Top marks to Carmel. I am in awe of her energy and positive attitude towards making every meal into a feast even after or during long trips and hard walks. She was very well supported by Mark too. He has his specialties like his iron pot treats on the camp fire .
Campsites were on the whole better than expected with a couple of standouts. The set up tents are really good and I had plenty of rest and comfort on my swag. Carmel and Mark were always on hand to help me roll mine. I was rubbish at that and they cheerfully did it so as not to make me feel completely useless.
The tour guides were fantastic I cannot praise them enough. They are knowledgeable, energetic very organised and I felt safe and in excellent hands at all times. They work extremely hard to ensure that everyone is enjoying the tour to the best of their ability. They also had some wonderful treats planned like champagne pre dinner drinks to watch the sunset over looking the Pentecost River.
They were very clear on making sure that the group understood the level of difficulty of each walk without putting contenders off.
Comfort generally was good especially the areas that could be controlled. It is camping and every effort is made to do it well.
I liked my sleeping arrangement and the chairs around the campfire were comfortable for me. The bus being air-conditioned was great as otherwise it would have been too hot.
Hygiene was well maintained and everyone completed the trip without any bugs. I am on the fussy side of normal and I was more than comfortable with everything from food storage, preparation, serving and the cleanup. Well done all.
Thank you again and I will certainly be recommending Adventure Wild to my friends and relatives with a strong urge for them to do it while they are fit and able.
I wish you every success and hope your service to the Kimberly continues.
Kind regards

Dear Simone and Karl
Thanks to both of you and Carmel and Mark I have enjoyed the trip of a lifetime.
Your pre-tour service was excellent…nothing was left to chance. I also appreciated your generous offer to purchase my drinks due to my late arrival in Broome the evening before we began our tour. Thank you again for taking that trouble.
The pace of the itinerary was just right for me and I appreciated the opportunity to take on as much or as little as I wanted within the schedule. The content of the itinerary was incredible taking in many of the places that I have long wanted to experience. While the Bungle Bungles were a highlight, Windjana, Bell, Emma and Darngu gorges were also exceptional.
I loved the meals…best camp food ever. I was really impressed with the variety, quality and freshness. Carmel seemed to effortlessly produce the next meal whether it was on the road or after a long day driving or walking and there was always plenty of it. The lunches were great and the evening meals were incredible…not to mention the variety of puddings. Mark certainly knows how to cook fish and steak (and he makes a mean damper).
The campsites were amazing. I especially appreciated the fact that we stayed two nights at most of the sites. The tents were great and generally the facilities were clean and adequate. Some, such as, Home Valley and El Questro were outstanding but every site had its own particular charm; if the facilities were basic then the location more than compensated for the minimal amenities. Your private camp site was a clear winner perfectly scheduled for the last night.
Carmel and Mark were fantastic tour guides. They are a great team. I was particularly impressed with their knowledge of the history of the area, including the Aboriginal culture. They demonstrated a passion for the birds and other wild life as well as the vegetation of the area. They had the happy knack of creating a perfect setting with drinks and nibbles to compliment the beautiful sunsets on the Pentecost River, looking across to the Cockburn Range and the lookout across to the Pentecost Ranges. Their sense of humour was delightful and their ability to front up every day with such positive and caring attitudes was impressive. They were particularly attentive to any special needs and offered assistance whenever required (a helping hand on the tricky walks and rolling the odd swag etc.etc..). In other words they were awesome.
Overall the tour was excellent value for money and met all my expectations and more. It is obvious that a lot of organisation, planning and fine tuning of every detail has taken place because it really works well.
Thank you all again for a very memorable trip and I will be spreading the word.
Warm regards

The reason we chose a guided tour was that given the vastness of the landscape of the Kimberley it would be easy to miss the best it has to offer.
Our trip with Adventure Wild ensured not only that we saw the best, we also did so in a logistically comfortable way.
Our guides Phil and Liz, had the uncanny knack of keeping us on time while having fun. They managed the different personalities with consummate ease.
Safety was considered and adhered to in every aspect; Phil’s careful driving, Liz and Phil’s care for us all on our walks and the food hygiene practices were beyond reproach.
Phil and Liz’s knowledge of the Kimberley’s was remarkable and provided an educational experience for us all.
Thank you to Phil and Liz; Adventure Wild and our wonderful travel companions.

Hi Karl & Simone,
Well before our tour commenced you helped us become well informed & we thank you for your considerable help with the planning stages.
Then the magic began, from the glowing oranges of Windjana Gorge, the stunning scenery along the way, the walks, refreshing water holes, the sunsets, the serenity of our last night camped by a billabong. There was great camaraderie among our fellow travellers, chatting around the camp fire or getting stuck into the chores were fun & special moments. Mark & Carmel were a wonderful couple, creating many a fabulous & healthy meal & keeping us informed & entertained along the way. Lending a helping hand to any who needed assistance on the walks, as did Helen after hurting her ankle toward the end of our Manning Gorge walk. Fortunately it was a minor sprain & with some timely first aid from Carmel she was soon able to participate again.
I broke my glasses on day 3 & by a stroke of luck, Marks spare reading glasses served my long distance vision fine & helped considerably with my reading. Talk about giving me the “shirt off his own back”. Both Mark & Carmel lent a helping hand to every one when it came to rolling up our swags & through their efforts had us packed & ready to roll in record time without having to “Crack the Whip”. That got us to be near enough to being first on the scene on a number of occasions. Almost having Zebedee Hot Springs entirely to ourselves was pure bliss. Another delightful moment was having champers, cheeses & dips atop a hill overlooking El Questro Gorge as the sun dipped toward the horizon. I’m sure the few other travellers there were envious of our group.
Well done Mark & Carmel & the Adventure Wild team, this was a holiday that will reside in our cerebral cortex, pleasant memories segments for many, many years.

We would just like to say a huge thank you for the professional service and high standard of tour provided by Adventure Wild. Your point of difference from others is the life experience and wisdom your tour guides bring to the role and also the slightly longer tour length which ensures that there is no rushed feeling.
All communication with Adventure Wild was incredibly efficient and nothing was ever a problem – a joy to deal with. Thank you
The permanent camp sites were great. We particularly enjoyed the last night where we were our own exclusive group on the bank of the river – such a beautiful spot.
Quality of the meals was exceptional. There was always good variety and ample quantity – no one went hungry!!
Liz and Phil were exemplary guides. They generously shared their vast knowledge of the Kimberley, attended beautifully to the individual needs of the tour members and were incredibly well organised. Overall they made this trip incredibly memorable.
We had a fabulous time and some very special memories to take away.
Thank you again

Thank you to Phil and Liz for making our trip a memorable one. As tour guides you both were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Your knowledge and information of the plants, animals and history of the area makes for a very interesting tour.
The hygiene of everything you did, given the conditions was amazing and you ensured all participants maintained good standards.
The quality and quantity of the food was fantastic. No one went hungry.
Having pre erected tents made it so much easier and we all got used to rolling our swags which were very comfy.
People who are interested in doing this type of tour need to have a good level of fitness as the hiking is at times difficult but very do-able.
The organisation from beginning to end was superb.
We were very impressed with Phil and Liz and would not hesitate to recommend Adventure Wild to anyone thinking about this type of adventure.
Thanks to everyone concerned in putting the tour together. We had a great group of people.
Thanks
