We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
The tour was fantastic; both Mark and Carmel are great tour guides and we both really appreciate their efforts over the last 12 days.

Our Kimberley trip was absolutely superb. my husband(69) and I (65) are not campers but chose this trip because of the recommendation of friends who spoke very highly of it. We were not disappointed.
Simone’s attention to detail, and the speedy and friendly manner in which our emails, prior to the trip, were answered made us feel very comfortable about our decision to travel with Adventure Wild.
Our guides, Phil and Liz were amazing. Compassionate, kind and caring, they have an intimate knowledge of, and passion for the Kimberley. We were very fortunate to have them as our guides.
Our itinerary ensured we travelled at a reasonable pace while seeing the breathtaking beauty of the area. If you are thinking of the Kimberley, this is the trip for you. we can’t recommend it highly enough .
and further in a separate communication..
Hi Simone,
Just a note to thank you for everything you did to ensure we had a wonderful trip, it was absolutely superb. Many, many thanks.
I also wanted to let you know how very fortunate Steve and I feel to have had Liz and Phil as our tour guides. Their high level interpersonal and organisational skills are exceptional as is their knowledge of and passion for the Kimberley. They quickly established a very positive rapport with all on the trip. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Eg Phil kindly bought a memory card for our camera. Both showed kindness, care and compassion several times during the tour. It was an absolute privilege to spend time with such wonderful people, who are outstanding representatives of your company, of which they spoke with great affection.
Best wishes
Hi Simone.
What a fabulous 12 day Kimberley experience.
It’s such an amazingly beautiful part of the world that exceeded our expectations.
Our tour leaders ‘extraordinare’ Mark and Carmel are exceptional people. Their passion, knowledge and love for the Kimberley was infectious. Along with their friendly, outgoing personalities they created a happy, fun environment for us and our fantastic new found friends, which allowed the trip to run like clockwork.
Karl and Simone’s pre tour communication and immediate responses were outstanding, which provided us with the confidence that it was always going to be a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work folks.
The excellent itinerary covered off all the ‘must see’ sights and destinations at a good pace with time to relax.
The campsites were much better than we anticipated, with pre-erected tents, hot showers and clean amenities.
The swags provided were well equipped with pillow, blanket, and sleeping bag, ensuring a comfortable nights sleep.
Each meal was well organised and provided an outstanding, varied menu of healthy, fresh food served in ample portions with a particular emphasis on hygiene at all times.
The water canteens were a nice touch to the trip but we found them to be bulky and cumbersome on the walks and in the bus. Perhaps a smaller water bottle alternative would be a better option.
Thanks for the wonderful memories to you all and we look forward to recommending Adventure Wild to any interested travellers.
Hello Simone,
Thanks for the information you sent me. I would just like to say that I found the tour a wonderful experience. It was such a well organised tour. Gools and Thommo were knowledgable, enthusiastic and were always kind and considerate, even under the most trying circumstances. Their energy was never ending.
The meals we were presented with by Gools, with help from Thommo, were delicious. Their standard of hygiene, especially to do with food is to be commended. I learned a lot about the region from the stories told by Thommo. I couldn’t fault the tents, swags and sleeping bags, and appreciated not having to pay the single supplement.
I am very glad I went on all the optional ours, I really enjoyed them, especially visiting the remote indigenous community.
I will certainly let my friends and relatives know about the tour. Its an experience I will always remember.
Thank you
Kind regards
Hi Simone,
I really had a blast on this adventure. As a city gal myself, I know nothing about the Outback and everything I experienced on this trip was all new. Most of the things I did were first time for me. Carmel and Mark have given me so much support and encouragement throughout the trip and for doing things which I thought I can’t do. All my travelling companions were great and helpful. As a solo traveller I find that this type of small group tour suits me well. Food was great and itineraries were well spaced and not been rushed at all.
Thank you Mark and Carmel for working so hard and giving me such an awesome trip and experience. Simone and Karl, thank you for having such a great product in your company.
I certainly rate this 10/10. Highly recommended even for someone who think they can’t survive without modern amenities!
P.S. I love the noodle (swimming) and know how useful it is!
10/10
Hi Simone
Ian and I would like to commend your company on the excellent Adventure Wild 12 day Kimberley Adventurer trip we did from 1st to 12 May, 2019
We initially met Simone and Karl at the Caravan and Camping Show in Melbourne and the concept of tenting our way around the remote Kimberley seemed like it might be a challenge and fun and it was all of that and more. This tour was a great way to get a snapshot of a remote area that might otherwise be inaccessible for some people and we learnt and saw more from our guides than doing it alone.
Everything was so well organised fron the initial bookings with Simone, to Carmel accomodating my dietary need, to an arrival phone call in Broome from Karl. Amazing!
And when we thought that was really good we had the good fortune of meeting our guides, chefs and drivers and by the end our friends Mark and Carmel. Their love of Australia and the Kimberley region was infectious. We look forward to returning to WA.
The daily organisation was fantastic and they worked so hard to give us all a really rewarding journey. We were blown away with how much knowledge and interest they had in the flora, fauna and geology of the region and about the life on a cattle station.
And the preparation and delivery everyday of such yummy meals in a such a remote location !
Camping in tents, sleeping in swags , dining under the stars, chatting around a camp fire, participating in the daily camp chores like the dishes , helped to bring the group together and provided a great social aspect and the making of new friendships and we thank everyone that was on our tour for so many laughs and making this holiday such a memorable, relaxing and fantastic experience from start to finish.
Our Rating
10 out of 10
We have no hesitation in recommending this tour and our guides Mark and Carmel.
I can thoroughly recommend Adventure Wild. All questions and concerns before the trip were answered promptly and patiently making it evident from the start that this is a very professional boutique tour group, passionate about introducing guests to the Kimberley.
The itinerary was well thought out, including all the main places of interest, and a number of two night stops ensured that we were not rushed but had time to relax and to thoroughly absorb the amazing landscapes. Ours was the final trip of the season and, as warned by Adventure Wild staff, it was very hot but there were always options along the way so that we could pace ourselves to be comfortable. A non-swimmer, I found myself ‘swimming’ in stunning gorges, billabongs, rivers and the clear waters of Lake Argyle.
Full marks to our two exceptional leaders, Gools and Thommo, for their skilled driving along endless rutted roads, their thorough organisation and attention to every detail including matters of hygiene, their background facilitation in moulding us into a cohesive, fun loving team, and their patience and sense of humour.
My appreciation for the Kimberley landscape and its people, (indigenous and more recent) was greatly enhanced by the knowledge, insights and storytelling particularly of Thommo. We were thrilled to be taken to an ‘undiscovered’ area of rock art. Gools, with Thommo’s assistance, produced deliciously healthy meals in the camp kitchen. She also managed to remain amazingly calm and level headed when a huge king brown snake joined us after dinner one night!
The tour is over but the memories and impact on me of my time in the Kimberley will live on.
Hi Simone,
I had a wonderful time. It exceeded my expectations. Gools and Thommo were terrific. They were informative and had a wealth of knowledge. They were very organized and all that helped make our trip run smoothly. They informed us along the way. The food was the best, quite nutritious and a there was a variety of meals, certainly not your everyday camping foods. The friendliness of the group also added to the overall trip.
I would like to extend my gratitude to you and your company and the overall team for a wonderful trip. I have already been recommending “Adventure Wild “ to those I talk to about my trip through the Kimberley. I will definitely continue to recommend it. WOW WHAT A GREAT TRIP.
Thank-you, kind regards
Hi Simone and Karl
A few comments on my Kimberley tour 8 – 19 august 2019:
- Pre-tour service excellent. Communication and advice from Simone and Karl was prompt and accurate.
- Itinerary was excellent. The pace was good, with sufficient time to enjoy each site and also time to relax.
- Meals were exceptional. Plenty to eat, with healthy alternatives and variety. Well prepared by Mark and Carmel.
- Campsites were very good – the more remote, the more enjoyable for me.
- Tour guides Mark and Carmel were fantastic. Knowledgeable and interesting commentary. Always willing to help out tour members having difficulty. Helped generate camaraderie among the group.
- Despite the corrugations on the Gibbs river Road, the ride in the bus was very enjoyable. I found the swags were quite comfortable and warm enough on the chilly nights.
- Good attention to hygiene in preparation and clean-up at meal times.
Summary
Congratulations on making my trip to such a beautiful part of Australia so enjoyable. The planning and organisation and guides were terrific. Part of the pleasure was meeting with people from a diverse set of backgrounds and becoming solid friends during the trip. I have recommended Adventure Wild’s Kimberley trip to several friends and one is already planning to do it in 2019.

Congratulations on a wonderful product! It was well paced with a special highlight each day, subtly ever-changing landscape, group size just right and the option of adding on attractions made it affordable to anyone; however the clinchers for me were the tents already set up and no single supplement !
While the natural attractions, stunning sunsets, sunrises, and huge starry night skies are the same for everyone, I feel what set your product apart was the quality of your personnel – Gools and Thommo . What gems you have there. I observed other guides we met on the way and was so glad we had the Dynamic Duo. Not only were they knowledgeable on many subjects, they were passionate and professional, ever helpful, kind, capable, practiced, cheerful, sharing of their own life experiences, experienced at getting camp ready, harmoniously able to work together as a team, create a relaxed, happy atmosphere among the group and interested in each of us.
Oh and did I mention Thommo’s story telling skills and his sympathetic rendering of the plight of the Aborigines ?
And as for Gools’ culinary skills! We dined in a different country each night.
A fabulous trip that will stay in my memory as a highlight for a long time.
Thank you, Simone and Karl for a great tour.
