We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
The itinerary was excellent, more than we had anticipated doing. Nothing too hard, we weren’t rushed or pushed & felt safe at all times. Mark & Carmel were very supportive making sure we were not taken out of our comfort zones, they were terrific & very professional with a good knowledge of the area & the history. They genuinely love the Kimberley’s. They always made sure we were happy & comfortable, just a great pair of easy going, hard working Aussies. Loved them.
The meals were of a very high standard. Amazing what can be cooked with a camp kitchen & camp-oven. Especially the deserts & damper (with jam & cream). Lunches were always amazing,
We would like to thankyou all, we totally enjoyed ourselves, it all went too quick. It will be something we will always remember.
Fun, laughter & great friendships made over the 12 days we had together.
Thanks again,
What a wonderful experience! Our guides and drivers, Gools and Thommo did a fantastic job of caring for us and sharing their many years experience in the Kimberley.
There were too many highlights to mention but I particularly enjoyed the gorge walks and swimming in beautiful waterholes. The Bungle Bungles was another highlight and the ability to add on helicopter and other flights was a bonus.
Gools’ cooking skills were fabulous and both Thommo and Gools kept everything running smoothly and with ease.
We came across a number of other tour groups during our trip and were so pleased we chose Adventure Wild. No one else seemed to be having near as much fun as us.
A big thank you to Gools and Thommo for making our trip so memorable.
Hi Simone and Karl,
We have just returned from our Broome to Broome Kimberley tour with Mark and Carmel… in a word “Wow”….Right from our pick up from the Mecure on our first morning we knew we had made the right choice to travel with Adventure Wild, our hosts greeted us with beaming smiles and a genuine enthusiasm which proved to be infectious, as each of the guests were picked up the same enthusiasm was extended, what an awesome team.
Mark and Carmel’s ability to include each of the guests with the same happy and gracious air, having everyone feel special and gaining our confidence as we travelled.
Marks vehicle skills were a joy to see, especially on the Gibb River Road, he seemed to find the smoothest part of the road helping to keep us comfortable and no doubt saving the vehicles.
Carmel’s great and interesting commentary, together with her ability to create fantastic meals from the trailer…helped us enjoy this incredible journey.
We were blown away to find on the first night our swags had been made up, all we had to do was roll them out. For those of us who had never slept in swags this gave us a flying start, their tuition on the rolling up of the swags gave us a real appreciation of their kindness and understanding.
The places we were taken were just about mind blowing, places we certainly wouldn’t drive our own car. Some of the roads had to be seen to be believed, corrigations that were likely to shake the teeth from a China dog yet we travelled in relative comfort in the bus.
Having completed this incredible journey and been taken to the best highlights of the Kimberley, such as Windjana Gorge, Galvin’s Gorge, stopping at Dog Chain Creek, lunching on the banks of the Durack River, camping at Home Valley Station champagne & nibbles @ Pidgeon Holes and El Questro, flying out to the Mitchell Plateau and falls, walking and flying over the Bungle Bungles all destinations dreams are made of.
Our special thanks also must be given to yourselves Karl and Simone for the care taken, and encouragement to help us negotiate the intricacies of bookings and other arrangements that made our journey something special.
Once again we would like to take this opportunity thank Mark and Carmel for a most special experience and taking extra care of Joy when she was unwell for a few days.
With kindest regards
What a wonderful trip. The scenery, wildlife, countryside was a treat to see. The company on the trip was very friendly and our hosts/guides/drivers were exceptional, a great big thank you to Liz and Phil for their very caring attention, we could not have been looked after better. We would certainly recommend your trip to any potential travellers.
A very big thank you
We recently returned from our Kimberley Adventure with Mark and Carmel, and it’s difficult to find enough superlatives to describe the experience. The pre-trip information from Simone and Karl was comprehensive and much appreciated. Thank you – we felt fully prepared.
The pace of the tour was perfect, even for those of us who’ve reached the 70 year milestone. Catering was beyond expectations and I’m still raving about Mark’s camp oven chocolate pudding! The fact that he and Carmel could maintain the standard and variety of food for 12 days is testament to their commitment to the job.
They were not just “tour guides”. They felt like travelling companions and confidantes who displayed a caring presence at all times. They had the knack of noticing when some of us faltered a little on the more strenuous hikes. For the 12 days their energy was boundless.
From start to finish the itinerary was perfect. Mark’s humorous “tomorrow-tonight” sessions around the campfire were great fun, and ensured we were all well prepared for the next day’s activities.
Some campsites at first seemed quite rural and basic to us coastal dwellers, but all turned out to be one of the positive experiences of the tour. There was great camaraderie among the group, as we shared the chores to ensure everything stayed on track.
Every day there were highlights to enjoy and remember. We are so glad we chose “Adventure Wild” to experience the Kimberleys while still fit enough to fully appreciate its rugged, majestic landscapes.
A very sincere thank you
Adventure Wild Kimberley Tour with Mark & Carmel (and Mascot Fergus)
Let us tell ya about a man named Mark
Who has great wit & is never formal
Said one day to his wonderful wife, Carmel
Let’s hit road the road hon, and do something less normal.
Adventure Wild and the sounds of the outback came calling
Mark said ‘lets leave the cows and go exploring’
We’ll bounce over the Gibb River Road, avoid crocs and camp in the Kimberley
They took up the offer, then thought do we REALLY have to get up this early
How hard could that be,
a crew of two, a truck, trailer, & lovely people like you & me. (Us)
Each day begins with swag rolling
Swags comes in all shapes and sizes
What a feat, not to be beat,
To get that lot all nice and neat
Carmel, your knowledge, cooking, driving, humour, to name just a few
the stories of the outback and indigenous history which have been informative through & through
Although Carmel would like a cooking pill,
we are amazed at the freshness & variety of food. We had a great deal
Mark and Carmel, your attention to detail is to be admired, and you’re never put
off by our silly questions, you even pretend to be inspired
Dish washing was never a chore
Where many a story told and many problems were solved
Safety comes first with Carmel & Mark when collecting wood is the go
Chainsaw, glasses, gloves and sitting atop the kitchen will show
Many hands collect the hoard
Chain gang style and woods on board
We’ve bounced over roads, enjoyed the clear night skies, swum in a billabong,
shared stories around the fire, then ‘tomorrow-tonight came along
Mark gave Kerry the shirt off his back too!!
Some even found frogs in the loo
Like a coat of many colours
We are a crew of many colours, each special to the core.
A challenge here, a challenge there but grateful to you for taking us on this
amazing journey to see the rugged beauty offered by the Kimberley.
I’ve been on quite a few small group tours and I can honestly say this one was superlative. Every detail has been thought out, from the travel bag that packed so neatly into the truck to the canteen that kept our bottles constantly refilled, the ready-made swags, the itinerary that gave us a rest just when we needed it, the planning for extras such as flights and river cruises, and of course the wonderful food.
Other reviewers have praised their guides Carmel & Mark and Phil & Liz in the same terms as I would use for Gools and Thommo. Obviously Adventure Wild has a fantastic team across the board. Nothing was too much trouble for G & T and although they have done this trip many times before they were still full of genuine and infectious enthusiasm.
I’m recommending this trip to everyone I meet. It couldn’t have been better. Thanks to everyone involved.

We found Simone and Karl’s communication prompt and helpful-well done; and in fact it is because of this I booked this tour over other tour groups.
From the moment the bus collected us from the street we were made to feel special. Mark & Carmel our hosts are the most amazing people we have had the pleasure to meet and spending 12 days with them was just so easy, I feel they really earn their money that is for sure, and after 12 days of putting up with all personalities must be wrecked. They looked after all our needs and nothing seemed to much trouble. Mark never complained about all that driving, and then when he pulled up they both sprang into action, getting our swags and bags down, tables up, food out, really made my head spin watching it all, and within hours we too learnt how to help out and join in the team as did everyone on our tour. Carmel taught us many things while travelling, handing around lollies and making sure we were all ok, often telling us this is your holiday; make it special and your time which was appreciated. All I can say is WOW!
Although the tour was busy, everything was doable and really quite well planned out thank you. We never felt pushed to go beyond our limits. We were well fed and the quality and quantity were great, I think you have that covered very well. We loved the campfire every night sitting around talking and loved the Swag as I had never slept in one before and was pretty impressed.
We had fun and much laughter and would never have been able to see some of these places without your tour – we loved it and thank you sincerely for organising such a great trip at an affordable price.

Hi Karl and Simone
I just wanted to email you to let you know that after a year of waiting for the time to come we finally did our Adventure Wild tour in May and absolutely loved it!! The tour you operate was above and beyond what we expecting to experience in the Kimberley.
Thank you so much for the awesome work you and your team do to provide such a wonderful tour and experience. Our tour guides Liz and Phil were absolutley amazing in making sure their guests had a fantastic experience to soak up and immerse in the incredibly spectacular scenery and environment of the Kimberley. Thanks so much to Liz and Phil for allowing us to experience the Kimberley in an informative, safe, fun and relaxed tour. They were truly amazing, bringing lots of fun, humour and knowledge to the tour and always making sure to put their guests first by going above and beyond to make sure we gained the most out of our travelling experience.
We miss being there and would love to return one day with our three children so they too can see just how amazing the Kimberley is and all that it has to offer. Again, thanks so much!!
Kindest regards,

Hello Simone,
We would like to commend your ‘12 day Broome to Broome’ tour that we recently completed.
From our correspondence before the tour to our last day, we have been very impressed with the quality of service and the tour itself.
Mark and Carmel were first class and nothing was too much of a problem. Their love of the their job and the outback was very positive and could not be faulted.
Carmel passing on knowledge of where we were and indigenous links. Mark’s willingness to stop and point out items like the wildlife and fauna were very informative.
We highly recommend this tour.
