We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
I recently returned from an unforgettable trip to the Kimberley in Western Australia, where I went on a tour with Adventure Wild Kimberley Tours. (25 June – 6 July 2025) What an experience – no, a series of experiences, each a unique insight into this wonderful part of our country!
Led by our indefatigable guides, we visited gorges, rivers, tunnels, hot springs, towns and, of course, the Bungle Bungles, learning about each as we went. Liz and Phil’s enthusiasm and comprehensive knowledge about indigenous and colonial history, as well as the region’s geology and geography gave added dimension to each place we explored.
The camping experience was far more comfortable than I had expected – not having to deal with pitching or packing up tents was a bonus, the swags were warm and comfortable and being able to stand in my tent was a treat. It’s a shame I was such a terrible swag roller! Each of the places we stayed had its own charm whether it was busy and well resourced like El Questro and Kununurra or quieter with brilliant starry skies like Windjana Gorge and Brooking Springs.
The food was plentiful and delicious – how such a variety of meals were conjured out of simple ingredients in no time at all was impressive – snacks were always available too!
It was a pleasure to travel with a great bunch of people from so many walks of life, all committed to engaging with all the trip had to offer. While the sound of a tent zipper at ungodly hours will not be missed 😆 the slo-mo swag human chain will make me smile for a long time.
I can’t say enough about our guides, Liz and Phil. They worked incredibly long hours, keeping us all safe, healthy, happy and well fed and watered. Their sense of fun and adventure, their care for everyone on each of our walks, and the rest of the time too, their incredible levels of organisation, and their knowledge and far ranging skill set made the trip move along seamlessly and safely.
I’m so glad I chose Adventure Wild – I’d recommend them to people in a heartbeat.
Hi Simone
Linda and I had a ball. Wendy and Magnus were the consummate hosts and we could not have asked for more. We were told it would be fun and it certainly was.
Great team effort! ❤️
The tour was excellent – very jam-packed but the only way to fit everything in! I never would have seen so much of the Kimberley, with so much insider knowledge, without the tour, which featured a range of activities from the *relatively* laid back to the more adventurous, and various optional tours. Liz and Phil were terrific guides: well-informed, considerate, fun. It was great not to have to set up and strike our own tents, and so lovely to have tents we could stand up in! Within the constraints of camping the swags were comfortable and the camping sites presented a good mix of experiences from more bush/national park camping (albeit with flushing toilets and showers) to the more commercial, with bar, swimming pool, charging stations and so on. It was good to be travelling with a small group as well; clearly that ‘holiday camp’ feeling is unavoidable but we had a reasonable amount of freedom at some times in the day to do our own thing or be more sociable as we wished. And the food was better than I’ve had at some hotels: Liz and Phil clearly put a lot of thought into the menus.
Had an amazing time with fabulous guides Sarah and Peter! The tents and swags were comfortable, food delicious and their expert guiding to wonderful sites made for an amazing trip!
We packed in a lot and loved every day and all the optional tours were well worth doing.
Thanks for making the Kimberley so accessible, I wouldn’t have wanted to be driving the Gibb River and Bungle Bungles roads.
So glad to have had a deep immersive experience of this uniquely beautiful part of Australia 🙂
Thanks again for a superb time!
Cheers
Dear Simone and Karl,
We cant thank you enough for organising our tour of the Kimberley with Magnus and Wendy as our guides. These two worked tirelessly to make sure everyone enjoyed and got the most out of the trip, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent and not once did we go hungry.
As first time group tourists we were a little apprehensive but we needn’t have been as everyone soon gelled and got along. As well as the truly staggering landscapes that form the Kimberley, we were treated to some spectacular sunsets at amazing locations (Pigeon Hole lookout at El Questro was a show stopper). The organisation for the additional tours by you for us was faultless, and we felt totally looked after from pick up to final drop off.
Well done on behalf of Lynne and myself.

Dear Simone and Karl.
Probably just as well that David typed our review cos he knows how I go on and on! I don’t quite know where to begin but I just wanted to take this chance to thank you both SO much for absolutely everything. David and I aren’t tour group people so we did set out with a degree of ‘I hope we’ve done the right thing’, and to be honest when we were picked up on that Friday morning to see 2 ladies in their 80s our hearts did somewhat sink. But not for long! It has to be said that if every group had a dear sweet Catherine and a Janet in amongst them it would make for a very happy group. Those 2 were amazing. But we were blessed to have such a great group of people. All from different walks of life and great conversations were had both on the bus, on the walks, around the camp fire and when helping with the evening and the morning jobs.
The bus was super comfy…even when bouncing along the corrugations and that trailer is the work of a genius. Unbelievable what you’ve managed to pack into there altogether. Wendy and Magnus are 2 extraordinarily exceptional people and they truly did make the trip so special for David, myself and everyone in our group. They soon worked out who wanted to do the long walks, who could only manage the shorter walks but not once did they make either of those groups of people feel awkward about their capabilities or limitations and between the two of them they accommodated everyone’s requirements.
Wendy’s dinners were amazing. We never went hungry. As a cook myself I truly take my hat off to her for producing what she did with such limited cooking facilities. Magnus’s ‘evening briefings’ were a delight as we were all then clear about what the next day had in store for us all. They and that trailer operated like a well oiled machine, they worked like Trojans putting everyone else’s needs first and I do so hope that they’ll be with you for a long while yet. Totally brilliant.
I must also thankyou from the bottom of my heart for pulling off the Mitchell Falls trip for us. I had given up all hope of getting out there but you made it happen. Not a cheap day for sure but so worth every penny. It was spectacular and Mark and Carmel made for great travelling companions. Thanku again for for all of the work you did behind the scenes to tick that box for me.
Every day was amazing and it’s impossible to pick favourites but of course, for me, Mitchell Falls is up there but the Manning Falls fights for the top spot too. That whole day was so special tho the night before when Magnus said “we’re swimming across at 6.30” I think we all thought he was off his rocker🤣but he was so right. To do that spectacular walk and get to the falls and have them to ourselves before the hoards arrived was so special. And ofcourse, the Bungles were magical. Yep, impossible to pick a favourite.
Thanku again for everything that you both do to make this tour such a memorable event for everyone and a massive thanku to Wendy and Magnus. This whole trip was a wonderful way to remember our 30th wedding anniversary and their taking us upto Pigeon Hole Lookout on that Tuesday evening was the icing on the cake.
Much love and best wishes to you all.
Lynne
Feedback Adventure Wild 28 June – 8 July
Dear Simone,
Adventure Wild was recommended to us by a friend, and we are thrilled to pass on this recommendation unconditionally. The trip was simply superb! The organisation, expertise and care of you and the tour guides Liz and Phil were outstanding in all aspects. Despite the unseasonal rainfall, you managed to get the tour going and organised flawlessly all the rebooking (which at times were difficult due to individual requirements and travelling plans). Even though we could not follow the original trip due to weather and road conditions, we never felt like we were missing out because of alternative destinations thanks to the broad and extensive knowledge of places of our tour guides, Phil and Liz. Their care of individuals and the group was way beyond that one would expect. Each group has different demands and without doubt the group on this trip formed supportive and happy dynamics thanks to Liz and Phil. Each individual felt respected, cared for and supported. We learned so much during this journey about culture, geology, fauna and flora.
With gratitude
Feedback for tour 18-29 June – Sarah & Pete
What an amazing adventure filled with firsts. First time camping, first organised tour, first tent pitched (just one). LOVED EVERYTHING!!!
Everyone was so supportive of each other, so everyone could do and experience all there was to see. Food was nutritious and so enjoyable, with all dietary requirements happily met. Don’t worry, lots of treats, too. We were definitely well fed and watered.
Our guides, Sarah and Pete, had plenty of praise already in the reviews on your site and met all expectations, sharing stories and history that really gave insight and a feeling for the history of these beautiful lands and people who came before us, as well as favorite songs, recipes and jokes. I felt connected with our beautiful country and proud of its beauty, which they obviously took great pleasure in helping us achieve.
My only complaint is you don’t do other tours, so I can join them. What about one between Broome and Darwin, or further down the coast? You’d have me in a shot.
Finally, you go above and beyond in service, when needed. I can’t recommend you enough.
Warm regards,
Hi Simone,
I had a great time on the tour. Wendy & Magnus were great guides & hosts. Food was great. A very well run outfit.
Thank you for a lovely holiday.
I will definitely be recommending Adventure Wild to everybody.
Kind regards
Dear Simone and Karl
Thanks so much for the opportunity to join the group that left Broome on Wednesday 11th June with Liz and Phil.
It was such a fabulous experience. Liz and Phil were exceptional hosts and guides. We saw so much of our beautiful ancient country, hiking and swimming, boat cruises and a bus trip to Lake Argyle. Phil and Liz were so genuinely kind and helpful, and they shared their extensive knowledge of the area. They were so well organised and worked such long hours to enable us to have the best time. It was a unique experience, camping in a tent sleeping in a swag. It was really quite the adventure, with many highlights, such as swimming across the Manning River at 6.30am with the sun rising and the mist swirling across the still water. This was a “pinch me” moment and one that I will never forget. Emma Gorge was another highlight, as was Chamberlain Gorge, Lake Argyle and the Ord River Cruise and the Bungle Bungles. Seeing the saltwater crocodile and the hundreds of birds at Parry’s Lagoon was a real bonus. I enjoyed seeing everything and learning so much about this ancient land, it was a wonderful time.
Liz and Phil are amazingly wonderful authentic people, and they really contributed so positively to the time we spent together.
I am handing out the brochures you posted out. My friend Fern from Melbourne recommended this adventure to me (she went on her trip last July) and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Sending warmest regards from Adelaide
Hi Simone and Team,
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for such an amazing tour of the Kimberleys, from day one it was exciting and so much to see and learn about this breathtaking beautiful part of Australia. We were fortunate to have the very BEST tour guides and a great group of fellow campers. The tents and swags were comfortable, the morning order of swags, bags and breakfast worked well as we all worked as a team. I put that down to the years of experience of both Phil and Liz who really made the tour beyond many expectations. Their commentary and knowledge of the area was educational and the outback lessons (Phil) drawn in the dirt were clear and informative. Both Liz and Phil shared unlimited amount of knowledge and passion for the Kimberleys. I was blown away by Phil’s control over difficult crossings and his outstanding skill behind the wheel. Cooking was well planned and nutritionally adequate for all diets. I really enjoyed Liz and Phil’s recipes, lots of variety and delicious.
The itinerary was perfect as we ventured deeper into the Kimberleys, there was something for everyone, I really embraced the peaceful stillness of Parrys Lagoon just sitting and observing the birds and saltwater crocodile. The Bungle Bungles were spectacular and the helicoptor ride unfolded another layer of vision of ancient sea beds.
Thank you and all for the hard work that goes into making and planning this fantastic adventure.
