We were surprised at how comfortable the swags were, appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to unpack and put up tents at each site.
Judy & Steve Lukacs
The tents, sleeping swags and locations to camp were great. I had the best night sleeps!
Jen, Joe & Jack Previtera
The campsites were always clean, well maintained and located in picturesque surrounds. Being in the outback is the best! The tents are clean and spacious and even the swags are cosy. The sleeping bags give the 5 Star touch with their delightful silky linings.
Jenny McKenzie-Murray
Our tented accommodation left nothing wanting and our bags, swags, sleeping bags and water bottles kept us comfortable and warm.
Denis & Shirley Ranger
Great trip. The fixed tents, swags and sleeping bags were clean, warm and comfortable.
Jos Benner
To be honest I was a bit concerned how I would go not being a camper or very fit. But once I started I was happily surprised that I was able to do all the walks and not miss out on seeing anything.
Rebecca Lingam
The camping experience was great. Having the tents already set up makes life very easy and the swags with sheets make for a fairly comfortable night. We enjoyed sitting round the campfire and chatting and playing games many evenings.
Meryl & Glenn Jackson
The camping experience was great fun and campfires at night added to the experience.
Steve & Connie Calderwood
Dear Simone,
My wife , Kate and I are now back in a cold Melbourne after completing Tour 23 on Sunday with Chris and Jan.
We had a wonderful experience over the 12 days of the tour and saw many great highlights in the gorges, rivers and diverse landscape of the Kimberleys. The tour certainly met our expectations with a wide variety of experiences for camping and with great food.
I cannot speak more highly of our guides Chris and Jan who went above and beyond to look after us and to be both engaging and informative about so much of the plants, animals and the history of the areas we were travelling through. Their enthusiasm and energy were contagious. They also met with a few small setbacks calmly and efficiently.
We would certainly recommend Adventure Wild tours to our friends.
Thanks again
Just about everything on this trip was terrific. Our guides, Liz and Phil, had such a passion for their job and for the Kimberley – the flora, fauna, and indigenous history and culture. Their knowledge was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They even lent me there camera when mine died half way through the trip.
Our fellow travellers all got along so well – we had so much fun – lots of laughs – everyone pitched in – and they were fantastic with our kids (the only kids on the trip). BTW this trip is suitable for teenage kids who enjoy the outdoors – though they were hanging out for Wi-Fi by the time we arrived in Kununurra!
The Kimberley itself was amazing. Beautiful gorges, fascinating rock art, wide open spaces, plenty of interesting plant species and animals. Even the bumpy Gibb River Road with all its water crossings, was a terrific experience. Campsites were all clean with a mix in standards of amenities. All had flushing toilets and showers (usually hot).
The truck we travelled on was very comfortable. All meals were excellent with plenty of fresh fruit and healthy snacks available between meals. There was plenty of room for 2 people in the tents which were permanently set up in all but 1 campsite. The swags that were provided were comfortable, with everyone receiving their own pillow, pillowslip, base sheet and sleeping bag for the entire trip. We just rolled them all up together in the swag when it was time to move on to the next campsite.
All in all a sensational trip. Thanks Queen Liz and Prince Phillip and thanks Adventure Wild.
The country was amazing. The vast majority was dry with sparse vegetation, but it was regularly interspersed with rivers and creeks that provided heavenly oasis. Rainforest in gorges were deliciously cool and Boababs provided glorious photographic subjects. The hundreds of creek and river crossings ranged from bone dry to near-torrents. We viewed, and cruised in, several magnificent ancient ranges with fascinating structures and history. None more so than the Bungle Bungles.
The Aboriginal rock art that we visited was exquisite. Taking us back millennia to a sacred place and time. Some was exactly as I remember studying in Art in secondary school.
The weather was glorious. Each day was as perfect as previous day. It did get a bit hot but water and shade were easy remedies. One day of high cloud provided photographic, rather than temperature relief.
The night sky was spectacular. With a waning moon, the starlight became even more impressive as we progressed. Absolutely brilliant stars from through the trees to the horizon at ground level to the zenith in every direction.
The road was as advertised: dry, wet, corrugated, smooth, sandy, rocky, graded, unkempt and sealed in places. Thankfully, the truck was very comfortable and Phil a very considerate driver. We had one long day on the road which wasn’t the best for some. Interestingly, the Gibb River Rd is sealed from Kununurra to El Questro turnoff.
The group was from all over Australia as well as a couple from England. We had riotous fun together, learning about and enjoying the Kimberley together. We parted all too soon, shared contact details and there is a strong desire for a reunion.
The food that we had on the tour was gastronomic. We had amazing variety and never less than we wanted. A couple of guest contributions augmented the cuisine.
The accommodation was the best swags and tents that we have ever slept in for eleven nights in a row.
Far from the least, our hosts were simply sensational. A couple that have extensive experience, knowledge and passion for Australia. Nothing was too much trouble, nor was anything overlooked.
Overall, it was everything we had hoped for and much more – A++.

Dear Simone
I would just like to thank you and your company for giving use such a fabulous experience traveling in the Kimberley’s. From day one which was meeting Karl at the Adelaide AFTA travel show in February 2016 we received our first email about your great Kimberley Tours. With regular emails we finally decided to book with your company after a follow up chat with Gools and Thommo at an Adelaide Retirement Lifestyle and Travel fare, this our first meeting with two amazing people. Any email or phone queries we had with regard to traveling with your company were handled promptly. You have a very professional operation.
On arrival Karl gave us a call confirming the pickup time.
Now for the trip and you’re amazing duo Gools and Thommo. The trip covered all that we expected and more. From day one Gools and Thommo were friendly, humorous, informative, and helped in every way they could. The food Gools cooked, with some help from Thommo, was first class. A different choice each day, with great variety and pick-up that Darryl didn’t like too much spice. Hygiene was also top of their list.
Everything ran smoothly. Thommo is amazing with regard to any mechanical problems, dealing with an air-conditioner situation, resolving the problem quickly. Early starts meant we were able to get to springs and caves before the rush. Both Gools and Thommo answered numerous questions from a diverse range of people in the group. For Darryl and I they also took into consideration our fitness level, with regard to our walking ability. We were encouraged on the walks and if we decided to not complete them, we were advised of a safe, sheltered place to await the groups return. This was much appreciated.
I would also like to mention our great group for fellow travellers who pitched in to help Gools and Thommo with the camp house keeping, being up early and staying out of Gools kitchen.
Thank you again Simone, Karl and especially Gools and Thommo, you made our trip to the Kimberley’s a very memorable holiday.
Adventure Wild you have an amazing team with Gools and Thommo.
Kind Regards
Hi Simone
Thank you for contact details of traveling companions and your assistance with our tours.
We joined the tour based on a recommendation and had a great time. My husband and I would like to convey our thanks to Jan & Chris. It was such a pleasure spending time with them and we truly appreciated all that they did to make our tour so enjoyable. Their attention to detail, care and inclusion to all members of the group, preparation of excellent meals, careful driving, knowledge of sites etc were noted by all. We particularly enjoyed being a part of the small bus community and would definitely recommend the tour to others.
Pity you don’t run tours in some other parts of the country!!!
Kind Regards
The tour pace was well balanced. Some days were full on with sightseeing and walks then there would be a 2 night stop. The last 2 days were long drives but also broken up with great sightseeing and camps.
The food was fabulous. Always healthy options, which was great. Liz was amazing what she could whip up! There was always plenty of choice at breakfast and lunch. I loved that fruit was always available on the bus. On walking days Liz always had healthy rolls prepared
Our guides, Liz and Phil were amazing. They made the trip sensational for everyone. They were so knowledgable about every place we went. Nothing was too much trouble. The attention to every detail of the trip was outstanding. I seriously don’t think they slept. They were always last to bed and first up. Liz had her finger on the pulse always watching out for everyone anticipating their needs. They were just a lovely couple who were amazing.
The campsites varied from basic at National Parks to great quality, we were in the outback. It was great to have toilets and showers at each location and the bonus was the tents were set up on all but one night. I thoroughly enjoyed Home Valley Station, El Questro and Kununurra for their clean amenities and hot showers! I loved the amenities at Bungle Bungles, moonlight showers! The last night at the private campsite was beautiful on the banks of a river. A perfect ending to an amazing holiday (even the frogs in the toilets!)
What a fabulous group we travelled with. Everyone just got on. A great fun atmosphere at all times. Nighttime at camp was just so pleasant when the chairs were all around the campfire and table set up for dinner.
We had an amazing adventure in the Kimberley with our wonderful tour guides, Phil and Liz.
Thank you!

Hi Simone and Karl,
Just a short note to say a big thank you for our fabulous trip with Thommo and Gools. We had the best time. Loved every minute of it.
Gool’s meals were just delicious.. hope you don’t lose her to Master Chef!
Thanks again.
Dear Simone,
We had a truly wonderful trip with Adventure Wild – Gools and Thommo were perfect tour guides – truly amazing food, they thought of everything and we loved their resourcefulness and professionalism- and were touched by their humanity and respect for both the land and people.
On a more mundane note – I was nervous of camping due to my English heritage and bad memories of rain and discomforts – however sleeping in a swag turned out to be a highlight.
Please pass on our regards and thanks

To experience the Kimberley region is a hope I have had for some years and having recently had the opportunity to do so found myself unprepared for the profound effect it has left me with. I believed it to be a destination requiring an appropriate mode of travel, not necessarily sacrificing a level of comfort. Adventure Wild provided this resulting in every day of our 12 day tour being full of wonder, activities and experiences I shall always remember; this all being made possible by our tour leaders Carmel and Mark. Their professionalism, competence in all aspects, and ready acceptance of each of our group of 16 individuals was inspiring, resulting in fun and enjoyment day and night. I thank them and wish them well.
From my first contact with Adventure Wild your courtesy and interest on a personal level impressed me and continued throughout and is very much appreciated.
As I do not participate in any form of social media I shall leave it to you to decide if any of my comments would be of interest to share, and if so that I may remain anonymous.
With sincere thanks and best wishes,
