Testimonial for Adventure Wild

Sally & David Macfarlane

Year of Tour: 2021

Hi Simone and Karl

We hope this finds you well and busy and that your tours are not being badly affected by the recent Covid outbreaks. How fortunate was our group to manage the “free from Covid” interval, with only the small snag (extremely well managed) at the end of the trip with some rapid testing of our Victorian buddies. We certainly wish your future tours run to schedule.

The Adventure Wild company is superb and we could not have faulted any aspect of our trip, from the  very beginning of its organisation in 2020 until the finale on May 30, 2021. The attention to detail and the method of delivery – outstanding. Big big thanks!

The actual tour, so brilliantly led by Gools and Thommo was indeed memorable. Their capacity to engage group members both individually and collectively, demonstrated just how dedicated and skilled they are in managing a variety of personalities and needs. They are amazing raconteurs and we have dined out on the FODMAP story!!

Thanks to them, we have left the Kimberley with an increased knowledge and appreciation of its geography and history, its people and their lands and the incredible beauty of its landscape. We were privileged.

We travelled quite a distance in the 12 days through the lands of numerous indigenous communities. I wondered how many visitors, (both with Adventure Wild and other companies) absorb the significance of Aboriginal heritage in this part of Australia.

Gools and Thommo were most respectful and informative and spoke about the communities and their lands throughout our tour, as I imagine all the AW guides would do. I believe this is such an important way for travellers to be aware of the numerous communities that occupy the Kimberley.

Our country, including the Kimberley, has such rich Aboriginal heritage and I think many people are yet to appreciate this. I am of the opinion that both visual and verbal acknowledgement heightens awareness of, and respect for, Aboriginal heritage. The more exposure, the greater the possibility of cultural appreciation.

Thank you for the opportunity to travel with Adventure Wild – we loved it all (even the recalcitrant zips on my swag) I confess I may have been responsible for mutilitating part of the lining! Sorry!!!!!!

Good luck with the rest of the season and beyond!

Kind regards
