Testimonial for Adventure Wild

Ant & Yvonne Dry

Year of Tour: 2017

Dear Simone,

We were on the 3 May trip through the Kimberley with Mark and Carmel Green.

We had a fabulous time.

The Kimberley itself needs no comment – what can one say- it is magnificent and unique.  You provide a perfect route for a perfect place.    We did the trip in reverse from your normal route.     I’m not sure which would be the better way around- I don’t think it matters.

More important stuff though.   I (Ant) am not a camper – never have been and never will, but I loved the trip.    It was camping, but it was so much better than that.     The tents were adequate, the swags comfortable and the facilities mostly acceptable.

What made the trip for me was the great guides.   Mark and Carmel made us feel that everything was a pleasure and that everything was easy.    They were charming, great fun, very funny, most accommodating, very knowledgeable (if they didn’t know their stuff they had us all completely fooled!!).

The evenings were wonderful.    Sitting around the campfire being spoiled was the highlight of the trip for me – great settings, interesting conversations and fantastic food (often cooked over the coals).

To specifically answer your “Guest Satisfaction Survey”…….

Pre tour service – This was exceptional.  Most professional.    We were regularly updated and always knew well in advance what we were in for.    Thanks for buying our drinks for us, and for organizing the horizontal falls.    It helped enormously, and made for plain sailing.

Itinerary – As stated above, this can’t be bettered.   We went to all the right places, and spent enough time at each one.

Meals – Great quality, quantity and variety.   If anything, we were fed too much.  I’m usually very disciplined when it comes to food, but (maybe it was the setting, who knows) I hoovered up anything and everything and went back for seconds!!

Campsites – The only one I found any fault with was the one at Manning Gorge.  It was a bit grubby, and the power went off every evening by 8.00.  There was also masses of thorns.    I think I was the only one who felt that way though (remember I’m not a camper), but it was more than made up for by the Falls themselves and the wonderfultime we had at the site.   I guess there’s nothing you can do about it – you have to stay there to see the falls.

Tour guides – Fantastic – see comments above.    Thanks Mark and Carmel.    There were also two apprentice guides on the tour – Chris and Jan Sanders.    They were also great company and will make excellent guides.

Comfort generally  – Hey, it’s camping.  For what it was, the comfort was five star!

Hygiene – Not sure what you want to hear here.   There were washing and bathing facilities everywhere, so the personal hygiene was fine.    As far as the food etc went, Carmel did a superb job- how she kept the kitchen clean in all that dust is a miracle!

Other suggestions – Keep on doing things as you are.    It was really awesome.

Regards,

Yvonne and Ant Dry
